Great news isn't it! Happy to say we played an incredibly small part, Bobby gave his DNA to the cause. So pleased. Have ordered a test for Dolly.

That's great. Apparently they had a good donation from PRA affected Apsos. It was the 'over 8 years clear' that they were short of. That's why it took a while for them the get the test sorted out.
I am wondering though, the breeders that wouldn't test before....are they going to use the DNA test? If not, we're no better off. It could be made mandatory, as in Germany, but they'd probably get round that somehow
I know the ILAC are only accepting DNA from dogs that have been identified by a vet. Also I hope that when someone mates their dog and they see the DNA result of the other dog, they check that the ID of the other dog has been verified by a vet because without that the DNA result is worthless xx

It should be made mandatory, dogs should not be allowed to suffer because breeders wont test their Apsos...xx

It won't make any difference to "greeders" as it will eat into their profit. Sad but true.
