Talking You can but try!

Tashi can be a bit of a ferocious barker when people come to the house and has scared quite a few people, even though I know he won't do anything. Anyway, once he's in full flood I find it quite hard to calm him down, so several training things I read suggested that first of all I should teach him to "speak" (i.e. bark) on command. We've been doing it for a couple of days now, with me saying "speak" then doing an imitation bark. I thought he was beginning to get it, but obviously he's not impressed by my "bark" as when I ask him to speak he makes this weird snuffling noise down his nose - hey, has anyone else got a dog who can sneeze on command!

Tink doesn't sneeze on command but she does a sneeze before she barks. So if she's trying to get our attention she sneezes then barks so as soon as she sneezes we always say no which got confusing when a colleague sneezed and I said no instead of bless you !! xxxx
