Thanks Nia, all good advice. Both yesterday and today Archie lifted one paw and whined until I'd wiped it and got the ice balls off. I also wipe all paws when we get in because of salt or any anti freeze he may have stepped in xx

Thanks Nia for this ............... I have not been able to walk mine for long at all in the snow as it's intensely freezing cold and Lexi keeps lifting her paw up after a short time so I can only do what I can do. So this is good to read for those who do not realise. Thank you x

Yes it is. When I took all four out teatime yesterday, the snow had turned to complete ice so the snow that was mis-shapen and 'pointy' were like shards of glass and hurt their paws .... all four of them, all four were limping and holding paws up. I couldn't believe it so felt awful then ......... I found a bit of unaffected tarmac at the side of the road and wiped their pads (I carried a cloth with me) .... and then got them home as quickly as I could whereby I washed their feet in warm water ... horrid!
